Don't let perfection kill production
Why "done" often triumphs over "perfect"
Hey marketers!
Happy Wednesday, I’m drinking a fresh brew (iced of course) reflecting on a challenge I’ve faced throughout my career, and I bet it’s something you’ve faced as well.
The battle between perfection and production.
It’s the same trap that prevented me from starting The Lonely Marketer sooner.
I wanted a few more years under my belt before sharing knowledge/experience.
I wanted to build a bigger audience.
I wanted to be a better writer.
I wanted it to be … perfect.
What I thought were good reasons to wait were actually excuses that led to procrastination - ultimately stunting the potential growth.
I also wanted to be excellent - something that can often be confused with perfect. But excellent and perfect are not the same thing.
Let’s jump in and talk about the pitfalls of perfectionism, a perspective shift, and some real world examples of when production wasn’t hindered by perfectionism.
